Pet Grief Therapy

I’ve been asked what it means on my website when I list my service as vegetarian / vegan friendly.

I often hear from people that they don’t feel comfortable attending therapy when they are concerned that the animal they are grieving may be seen as a meal by the therapist and sometimes they feel too nervous to ask.  This creates a strain on the therapeutic relationship which is the most important aspect of therapy meaning the client doesn’t feel the full benefit of the service.

I also often hear that some feel they will be judged based on the species they are grieving, this is particularly true for sanctuary volunteers working with chickens, pigs, sheep etc. or animal advocates.

I want you to know this is not the case with my service, firstly I don’t see your animal as a meal as I am a vegan therapist and I work with rescue and sanctuary animals.  Now I would like to let non vegan clients know that this is never mentioned or pushed on them so please don’t be concerned about that.

You will never be judged for the species of animal you are grieving by me.  I have grieved and cried for many chickens, sheep, rabbits, hedgehogs, ducks etc.

My service is not just for domestic pets, it is for anyone who had a bond with an animal and is going through the heartbreak of grieving for them.

If you’d like to explore this further, I offer a FREE consultation which you can book here.  This is to make sure that I’m the right fit for you.
